WHAT SHOULD I PUT IN MY SHOEBOX?

Check out the Make a Shoebox page on our website to information on how to make a box and what to include!
Please DO:• Wrap or decorate your box so that it can be opened
(lid and bottom separately)or, buy a pre­decorated box $2.50/Dollarama and secure with ribbon
• Include only new and unused items
• Use a regular-size shoebox
[8.5 x 12.5 or 7.5 x 11.5 work nicely] • Remove the price tags
• Include items that total about $50 value
What to Include:

• Something warm: mitts, scarf, hat, socks, specialty teas
• Something sweet: nut-free chocolate and candy
(not alcohol filled)
• Body or hand lotion, soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
• Brush, comb, shampoo, conditioner
• Nail polish, mascara, eye shadow, lipstick
• Purse sized Kleenex, small cosmetic bag
• Gift cards (Tim Horton’s, Shoppers, ect.), phone cardPLEASE WRITE THE AMOUNT OR INCLUDE THE RECEIPT
• Subway tokens and bus tickets
• Supportive message
Please DON’T:• Don’t wrap your box so that it can’t be opened, it must be opened and inspected before it can be distributed.• Don’t use an oversize box• Don’t include items totaling a value of much more or less than $50  (so that all women will receive similar gifts)

What Not to Include:

• Used goods
• Clothing that is “sized” (i.e. S, M, L, XL)
• Mouthwash or candies containing alcohol
• Candles, foundation, concealers
• Hand-sanitizers
• Unpackaged Items
• Jumbo sized containers
• Books other than self-help or inspirational
• Anything open or used or out of their packaging
