Northern Fights 5
Elite Amateur Competition was not always readily available in Northern Ontario. Amateur athletes wanting to compete in Kickboxing, K1 and Muay Thai events would often have to travel hours … even as far as some of the bordering states in the USA to gain invaluable fight experience. Then as the popularity of Muay Thai and Kickboxing grew, more and more events became available but only in some of the larger cities across the province.
REC Promotions is one of the promotions that pioneered live Amateur Events in the nation’s capital, Ottawa. REC Promotions has promoted amateur events such as Kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA. Many of the athletes featured on REC’s cards have transitioned to professional careers in organizations such as Bellator and the UFC. Northern Fights is lucky enough to have has partnered with REC Promotions and is committed to bringing that same level of professionalism and talent to Northern Ontario.
Northern Fights was established in 2016 and with a goal of showcasing elite level Amateur Muay Thai and Kickboxing and specifically showcasing our athletes from Northern Ontario.
The growth of the sport has resulted in several talented coaches and athletes opening academies all over Ontario and we are proud to have them all a part of Northern Fights!
