Capreol Santa Claus Parade Tree Lighting Candle Walk 2017

SANTA’S BACK IN TOWN AND HE’S COMING TO CAPREOL ON NOVEMBER 25TH

Capreol will once again be celebrating the Christmas season in style with the return of the much anticipated Candle Walk, Tree Lighting and Capreol Santa Claus Parade.

The Annual Tree Lighting activities will begin at 5pm with the Candle Walk at the Northern Ontario Railway Museum. Attendees will then participate in a Candle Walk to the Cenotaph where Carol Singing will be led by the Capreol Community Choir. The Tree Lighting will follow, along with Horse drawn wagon rides by Wagon Wheel Ranch. Mr & Mrs. Claus will visit with children at the Cenotaph Gazebo and then they will be whisked away to their float in the parade.

The Capreol Food Bank “Food Drive” is also taking place and food is being collected at local businesses around town. PLEASE BRING a non-perishable food donation and support this important Food Drive. Bins will be located at the Cenotaph Gazebo & also upstairs at the Arena following the parade.

THERE IS NO COST FOR THESE EVENTS, HOWEVER CASH DONATIONS ARE MOST WELCOME TO ENSURE THAT WE CAN KEEP IT GOING FOR MANY YEARS TO COME! DONATION JUGS WILL BE SET UP AT THE ARENA HALL UPSTAIRS FOLLOWING THE PARADE. THANK YOU!

ROUTE:

Parade Line-up will commence at CR JUDD PUBLIC SCHOOL. Parade will follow Sellwood onto Dennie Street to Mazzuca Motors (corner of Dennie & Hanna). Turn right onto Young Street. Turn Left onto Kelly Street up to Meehan and end at the Capreol Community Centre/Arena.

* There will be a disability/handicapped area located at the corner of Dennie & Young Street for those with accessibility issues in order for them to enjoy the parade and for safety.

The parade staging area will be congested. Please avoid using Lincoln Crescent during this time if possible, to allow for safety of participants and floats.

WARM UP AREA & FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Immediately following the parade, join us at the upstairs hall at the Capreol Arena for hot chocolate, cookies, Tim Bits, popcorn, and treats – all compliments of our Sponsors!

There will also be a variety of fun crafts for the kids to enjoy with the Our Children Our Future Program as well as an opportunity for kids to write their Letters To Santa!

And don’t forget your visit and pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus.

Sleigh Rides will also continue outside the arena following the parade until 8 PM.
